Life meanders like a path through the woods. We have seasons when we flourish and seasons when the leaves fall from us, revealing our bare bones. Given time, they grow again.
- Katherine May,
“Love is not something we give or get; it is something that we nurture and grow, a connection that can only be cultivated between two people when it exists within each one of them – we can only love others as much as we love ourselves.”
- Brene Brown
“Your loss is not a test, a lesson, something to handle, a gift, or a blessing. Loss is simply what happens to you in life. Meaning is what you make happen.”
- David Kessler,
The human experience is one of seasons. When we encounter seasons that challenge us, finding a compassionate, safe place where we can bring curiosity and creativity to our pain is the beginning of healing. And then seasons begin to change.
I believe that every human is unique. This has inspired me to engage in multiple different modalities of treatment. I am EMDR certified. I also have training in IFS (Internal Family Systems), Grief Counseling, and CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy). For couples, I have training by John and Julie Gottman and often use the Imago Conversation structure. Spiritual beliefs are sometimes an important aspect of growth, so I have experienced training in Formational Prayer. I use a wide variety of methods.
While I provide some tools and a safe environment, I believe that you are the expert in your own journey. I believe that the collaboration of my tools and your expertise is an essential part of healing. Learning to be curious, confident and creative is part of our journey together.
